We’ve put together a list of 10 simple things you can incorporate into your daily routine to help take care of yourself.
1. Eat balanced meals
Try and incorporate plenty of fruit and veg in your daily food intake! Chopping up the remainder of your fresh veg and freezing it for future meals will help you to ensure that you always have access to quick and easy veg to pop in your meals as you cook! Swapping a sugary snack for fresh fruit or veg can give us a longer lasting mood boost and stop us from sugar crashes.
2. Walk in the sunshine
Feeling the lovely sun shining warm healing light on our faces can help us stay calm and boost our moods, so get outside and take a little stroll in a remote place! This can be a fantastic way to get you feeling great, get a little exercise and give your mind a break, just make sure you’re walking a safe distance from others.
3. Write down what you’re grateful for
Set a timer for five minutes and write down as many things as you can think that you’re grateful for. This is a great little exercise you can do as many times as you need if you’re feeling a bit fed up.
4. Connect with friends
Connecting with friends may be a little harder at the moment, but having a little natter with a loved one can brighten up our day. It’s more important than ever to make sure we’re picking up the phone and talking to our friends so show those angels some love!
5. Have a social media detox
Sitting on social media can happen almost accidentally, especially when you’re in the house a lot. It’s important to make sure that the time you spend on your phone is making you feel positive, so make sure you remove anything that isn’t bringing you joy and fill your space with accounts that bring you good vibes and make you happy. Scheduling specific time slots for social media can also help you to make sure your day isn’t taken up on your phone.
6. Take a long shower/a long bath
A mindful shower/bath can help us to feel great. Take an extra five minutes to soak in the tub or enjoy the gorgeous water cleaning you in the shower. If you’re really brave, a cold shower in the morning can help you feel great!
7. Move more
Feeling sluggish? Get up, shake your bum and do some exercise! Pop on your favourite song and have a dance around. If this isn’t so easy for you, then doing some stretches when you can will help you release serotonin.
8. Breathe
Take time to enjoy deep meaningful breaths in the safe space of our homes or in isolated outdoor areas. Focusing on our breathing helps bring us into the present and lets us enjoy the moment.
9. Drink water
Hydration is essential to happiness! 2 litres is the minimum we should be drinking every day. Not only does it make us happy and healthy, it gets our skin glowing and our hair growing! Try getting a 2 litre glass bottle and working your way through this amount during the day.
10. Tidy your space
If you’re spending a lot of time indoors, it’s important to make sure your space feels nice. You could simply just reorganise your belongings so everything has a home or even move your furniture around to make your space feel totally different. It’s great to enjoy your space!
Hopefully you lovely lot can integrate these simple tips into your daily life to help you feel happy and well!
Sending you lots of love and light
